Meet Alpha

There’s a Place for Your Questions

Life is full of big questions. Why am I here? What’s my purpose? Why do bad things happen to good people?

Alpha is a safe place to explore those questions. It’s a series of conversations designed to create space for honesty, openness, and connection. No matter your background, your beliefs, or where you’re at on your spiritual journey—you are welcome here.

What Is Alpha?

Alpha is a series of gatherings where we share a meal, watch a short talk, and have an open conversation about life, faith, and meaning. It’s relaxed, it’s friendly, and it’s free.

Think of it like this: food + talk + conversation.

There’s nothing you can’t ask and no pressure to believe. Just bring your thoughts, doubts, and questions—and let’s explore together.

How Alpha Works at Northwood

Every Alpha night follows a simple rhythm:

  1. Eat – We’ll share a meal together. Food always makes conversation better.

  2. Watch – We’ll hear a short, thought-provoking video talk that unpacks questions of life and faith.

  3. Discuss – In small groups, you’ll have space to share your thoughts and hear from others. No one has to talk, and everyone’s perspective matters.

About halfway through Alpha, we’ll also have a Weekend Away—a special time to step out of the day-to-day, build deeper friendships, and reflect together.

Why Join Alpha?

  • It’s honest. No question is too simple, too tough, or too out-there.

  • It’s open. Everyone is welcome, whether you’ve been in church your whole life or have never set foot inside one.

  • It’s meaningful. Conversations at Alpha often spark lifelong friendships and fresh purpose.

“Alpha is for everyone who is willing to have an honest conversation. No matter your background, history, or beliefs—you are welcome.
