A Brief History

1973 – Property is purchased near the corner of Rivers Ave. and Otranto Rd. to establish a new and dynamic church.

1975 – Pastor Fred is called to lead Northwood.

1976 – Small Groups launch.

1978 – Northwood is formally incorporated, and our school is founded to partner with parents in discipling their children.

The 1980s-2000s – Northwood Church grows and plants other churches in the Charleston area and beyond.

2006 – An overnight fire destroys the Auditorium/Nursery building at the Otranto Rd. campus.

2010 – Construction Begins at Carnes Crossroads.

2017 – Pastor Rodney transitions to Lead Pastor.

2019 – A New Mission Statement.
