October 2024 Impact Update

Hey Northwood Family,

We’re always working to improve our communication as a church. One way we’re hoping to accomplish that is through this new Quarterly Update. Every three months, we’ll bring you a slice of what God has done through your generosity. You can expect to see stories of life change, numbers that illustrate God’s faithfulness, and exciting announcements. We hope it stirs your faith as you continue to partner with Northwood Church.

Welcome Kevin Fletcher

We are excited to welcome Kevin Fletcher as our new Chief Operating Officer (COO)! Kevin brings a wealth of experience from his leadership roles in various industries, where he successfully transformed businesses through innovation and operational efficiency. His passion for Biblical stewardship and collaborative leadership makes him a great addition to our team.

With an MBA and experience as CEO of CustomDrive and head of Zodiac Nautic’s North American division, Kevin is well-prepared to lead our church’s financial operations. His focus on delivering value and building mission-driven teams aligns perfectly with our values. We are excited to see the positive impact Kevin will make in helping us live our mission!

Wednesday Workshops

This past quarter, we launched Wednesday Workshops, a new initiative designed to help you deepen your faith and connect with others. We hosted two sessions with a total of 25 people attending, offering fresh topics and teachers every three weeks. These workshops provide practical guidance for applying God’s Word to real-life situations, making it a space where you can grow spiritually and build meaningful relationships. Join us as we continue this journey of learning and community.

Your Global Impact

Missions Trip to India

A few weeks ago, a small team from Northwood Church—Pastor Rodney & Tracy, Dave Jones, and Wade Kornahrens—partnered with Wing’s International in India. During their visit, they had the chance to see the Boy’s Home that Northwood helped purchase a few years ago. It was incredible to witness how it now provides a safe haven for about 45 to 50 boys, who were once living on the streets without families. The boys are healthy, well-cared for, receiving education, and most importantly, learning about Jesus.

The team also ministered to 27 families living in a local landfill. Wing’s International supports these families daily by providing meals and has helped ensure all the children have birth certificates. In India’s Caste System, these families belong to the Untouchables, the lowest caste. We are praying for the Holy Spirit's guidance in finding the best ways to support them.

One unforgettable moment occurred when Tracy connected with a young mother of a two-month-old baby boy at the landfill. The mother allowed Tracy to hold her son and then asked us to name him. The name Joseph immediately came to mind, so we named him Joseph, praying that, like the biblical Joseph, he might one day lead his family out of this difficult place with God’s help.

Thank you, Northwood family, for your generosity. Your giving is truly making a difference and changing parts of the world!

Mission Trip to Guatemala

This past summer, Northwood Church sent a team of 20 on a family mission trip to Guatemala, with members ranging in age from 9 to 77. Together, we shared the message of Jesus with 1,127 people in the communities surrounding Antigua, visiting mountain villages, bustling markets, an orphanage, and even a volcano. Some of our favorite experiences were performing gospel-centered skits and praying with children who responded to the message. We were overjoyed to witness 288 individuals make decisions for Christ, and we are grateful to have played a part in what God is doing in Guatemala!
